A graduate from the Department of Fashion Design at Donghua University, Lily likes to experience life as a local in cities around the world—traveling is how she gets her inspiration. For her, fashion and travel are a way of life; she likes to be young, wild, and free!
My company had its weekly morning meeting to review last week’s performance and discuss the week ahead. We’re kicking off the workweek by creating a mood board for inspiration.
Split my break between a working lunch and time with colleagues.
Worked from the afternoon tonight to find inspiring photos, trends, and colors for next season’s mood board.
Met with the team to finalize the colors of the next season’s mood board.
The textile accessories supplier visited our office and we selected fabrics and accessories for next season. I had a meeting with the team to discuss fabric choices, which meant working overtime.
Met with the team to determine all of the materials and accessories for next season’s mood board.
Reviewed fit samples for designs from the last quarter.
I went home and went for a run, drank a cup of soothing tea, and went to sleep.
Began to sketch out the clothing for next season’s collection.
After an hour-long lunch, I drove to the factory to see the new samples.
Returned home to write a draft of a travel guide to Santorini.
Continued my fashion sketches for the next collection.
After my usual two-hour lunch routine, I went to the mall to do market research.
I had dinner with colleagues.
Did a fashion photoshoot.
I went for a weekend lunch and afternoon tea for some rarely had relaxation.
Went to the spa and dinner with my girlfriends before heading home.
I had playtime with my kids (boy and girl fraternal twins).
I went for a walk around the park with my husband, twins, and parents, and enjoyed an all-around leisurely family day. Had dinner with my parents in the evening.
Everyone in this city is working hard to improve themselves and has put thought into what kind of future they want. I choose to use my talent and skills to do what I enjoy and make time to be with family and friends. I have a stable life, but with multiple roles, whether as a fashion designer, a fashion blogger, a friend, or a mother of twins. And although not every day is perfect, I’ve found that even imperfection can be a crucial part of the future you desire.
