Meitu @美图手机 is arguably the most popular smartphone brand among China’s millennial females. Meitu also has the most robust KOL marketing strategy of any smartphone brand selling in China, often inviting hundreds of KOLs to participate in campaigns. Last week, Meitu invited 30 KOLs from across China to a press conference in Beijing where they unveiled a new logo design and launched their latest luxury smartphone the ¥7,000 Meitu V6. Brand ambassador @angelababy live streamed the event on Meipai @美拍 to 1.4M viewers. KOLs like@傅沛MelilimFu, @陈小纭, @于海航Yu, and @鲁敏ALULU attended the event. The V6 phone’s hashtag #美图v6# has tracked 5.8M impressions and 11K discussions on Weibo. On Thursday, Meitu 美图手机 saw a 184% increase in brand mentions on WeChat.
